Research Worker


The salary will be paid at Grade 5, £27,328 to £31,656 per annum, plus £2,323 per annum London Allowance.


This post will be Fixed Term 12 months.


This is a Full Time (35 hours) –  100% full time equivalent.


The successful candidate will play a key role in an innovative study to investigate a novel mechanism underlying the biology of schizophrenia, testing a key theory of schizophrenia, and evaluate an innovative approach to treatment.


The main study involves the collection and analysis of clinical and multimodal neuroimaging data (MRI & PET) from patients, who will then receive an innovative new treatment used for the first time in schizophrenia, and clinical assessment to determine response to treatment.


Working closely with the Lead Investigators, the successful candidate will ensure the successful conduct and completion of the research programme. He/she will contribute to the collection and analysis of data, and play a key role in the assessment of patients and analysis of imaging data. He/she will also work closely with other research staff in the project and foster effective collaborative working relationships with the local services for psychosis. The successful candidate will also be encouraged to develop their own research interests. This could lead to a higher degree, subject to further funding.


The post would be ideal for a researcher with an interest in cutting edge neuroimaging and psychopharmacology.                                                                              


The selection process will include competency based questions and a panel interview.
